Mobile app development for iOS and Android

We build apps people actually keep on their phone, not a copy of a website. The code, the server and the domain stay yours, the quote is fixed, and we fix bugs in our code free of charge for as long as the product lives.

When an app is worth it, and when it is not

An app costs more than a website, so it only makes sense when it earns its place on someone's home screen. That usually means repeat use: orders, bookings, a loyalty card, staff working on site, data that has to be readable without a connection. If your goal is to explain what you do and collect enquiries, a fast mobile version of a website does the same job for €800 to €2500 and nobody has to download anything. We say this at the first meeting, before you spend money. If an app is not the right tool, we tell you plainly and point to the cheaper route. If it is the right tool, we agree together what goes into version one and what can wait.

One codebase, two stores

For most projects we write a single codebase that runs on both iPhone and Android. That means one development budget instead of two, the same look on both platforms, and one place to fix bugs and add features later. If your idea needs deep work with the camera, maps, Bluetooth or other hardware, we say so and write that part natively for each platform. We base the choice on numbers, not fashion: what it costs to build now, and what it will cost to keep alive over the next few years. Either way you end up with two store listings, one product and one person to call.

What goes inside the app

Push notifications, so you can bring someone back when it actually matters, not every day. Offline mode: the important data is stored on the phone and still works in a tunnel, a basement or a field with no signal. Analytics, so you can see which screens people really use and where they drop out. Connections to the systems you already run: stock, accounting, CRM, payments. Design for new apps is included in the price, and so are the SSL certificate, backups and protection against hacking on the server. We discuss every feature before we build it: if it adds nothing for the user or for you, we do not build it just because it is technically possible.

Publishing to the App Store and Google Play

We prepare the app and submit it to both stores: descriptions, screenshots, icon, privacy policy, age rating and the Apple and Google rules on how data is used. This stage takes anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks, because the review is done by the stores, not by us. Two payments go straight to the platforms rather than to QIT: an Apple developer account costs $99 a year and a Google Play account $25 once. We register both accounts in your company's name, so the app, its name and its ratings always belong to you. If a store rejects something, we fix it and resubmit at no extra charge.

Price, timeline and ownership

A mobile app starts at €9500 and takes 2 to 4 months. The quote is fixed: the invoice equals the estimate, with no surprises halfway through. The consultation and the estimate cost nothing, and we reply within one business day, usually sooner. The code, the server and the domain are yours forever: no platform rent, no subscription, no lock-in to us. The lifetime warranty means we fix bugs in our own code free of charge and keep security patches coming for as long as the product lives. While we work you have a client portal with progress, files and invoices, plus a personal manager in Latvian, English or Russian.

Frequently asked questions

faq.md4
How much does a mobile app cost?
Prices start at €9500. The final figure depends on scope: sign-in, payments, maps, an admin panel, integrations with the systems you already use. We prepare the estimate free of charge and then fix it, so the invoice at the end matches the estimate. If the budget is tighter, we say honestly what belongs in version one and what can wait for a second phase.
How long does development take?
Usually 2 to 4 months from contract to store release. First the design and the main screens, then development and testing on real phones, then the store review, which can add a few days or a couple of weeks. You follow the progress in the client portal, and you have a personal manager you can ask questions at any point.
What do Apple and Google charge?
Two payments go straight to the platforms: an Apple developer account at $99 a year and a Google Play account at $25 once. You pay them from your own account, and both accounts are registered in your company's name, so the app and its ratings stay your property. QIT takes no platform fee and no commission.
Who owns the code and what happens after launch?
The code, the server and the domain are yours forever, with no subscription and no lock-in to us. The lifetime warranty means we fix bugs in our own code free of charge and keep security patches coming for as long as the product lives. New features are separate work, and there too we fix the quote first and only then start building.
